Organizational Setting

Reporting to the Head of Operations department and assisting experienced Operations Inspectors, you will progressively develop your expertise in certification and safety oversight of civil aviation operators in Luxembourg.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for young professionals with strong interest in aviation regulations, safety management and operational oversight.

Your scope of work will include:

  • Operations document review and approvals (Operations Manuals, MEL, Management System Manuals …);
  • Oversight programme implementation including inspections and audits in compliance with EASA air operations regulation;
  • Technical analysis of special approval requests such as RVSM, LVO, PBN, ETOPS, NAT-HLA …;
  • Assistance and support to air operators;
  • Technical support to the Head of Department;
  • Follow-up of ICAO/EU regulations in relation with air operations;
  • Development of internal procedures and checklists;
  • Participate in international working group or workshop if necessary;
  • Promotion of civil aviation in Luxembourg.

Requirements

Education 

Post-secondary education of a duration of at least 3 years in Aeronautics, Aviation, Engineering or another relevant technical field. 3 years of working experience in aviation will be considered an asset.

Experience, technical skills and competences

  • At least three years of experience within an operational environment (e.g. professional UAS operator, training school, UTM developer);
  • Good knowledge of EU regulation 2019/947, including the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) methodology. Knowledge of any other EU regulations relevant to UAS operations (e.g. 2019/945; 2021/664) will be considered an asset;
  • Good understanding of the operational aspects of the aviation and UAS industry and associated risks. Qualification or certification in manned or unmanned aircraft piloting or in Air Traffic Control (ATC) will be considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills: ability to interpret and manipulate complex technical data as well as a keen eye for details enabling the candidate to make informed judgements;
  • Proficiency in common office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) AND strong interest in digital transformation and integration including the design, development support, setting and implementation of new tools and solutions;
  • Learning agility, with the ability to rapidly acquire new technical, processing and regulatory skills. Proactive mindset and willingness to continuously self-train in a fast- evolving and complex domain;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English. Good knowledge of French and/or German language will be considered an asset.

  • Strong interest in the field of aeronautics, particularly in the integration of UAS into the existing aeronautical environment;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, promoting a customer-oriented administration;
  • Effective communication skills including clarity, active listening, adaptability and conflict resolution;
  • Reliable, rigorous and detail-oriented;
  • Good ability to analyze and synthetize complex information;
  • Capacity to prioritize work under pressure and manage priorities to meet deadlines in a demanding environment;
  • Clean criminal record (pre-employment and background assessment will be conducted).
