Luxembourg Aviation Safety Agency is a company acting under the supervision of Luxembourg National Aviation Authority and fully owned by the State of Luxembourg.

Our misson

We are committed to carrying out control and inspection missions on behalf of the Directorate of Civil Aviation.

In particular, the company is responsible for all tasks relating to the certification and supervision of civil aviation safety, notably in the fields of aircraft operation and airworthiness, personnel licensing, aerodrome operation and air navigation services, and the implementation of related safety management systems.

With decades of proven experience, ALSA experts are prepared to supervise, manage and analyse security plans of civil aviation entities and operators

The activities relate to monitoring the conditions for the approval of operators holding an air operator's certificate (AOC) and the approval of aircraft.

We also monitor pilot licences and those of aircraft maintenance personnel, as well as managing and analysing the safety plans of civil aviation bodies and operators.

We are committed to overcome any challenge and attain relevant results.

The company has a pool of highly qualified experts, active in various international institutions, in charge of anticipating and developing the means to meet the future challenges of civil aviation (drones, cyber-security, Single Sky, etc.). To this end, the company strives to maintain a high level of training for all its staff, which in terms of cost amounted to 5.9% of payroll in 2022 (4.2% in 2021). In 2020, the company decided to invest more heavily and in a more structured way in research and development over the next few years, particularly in digitalization.
